April Favorites

I can’t believe it’s already May! April was a very busy month for me, but I managed to find some skincare, hair care, music, and beauty favorites for you guys!

 M a k e u p

First is this NARS highlighter.

I went to Sephora to look for a more natural looking highlighter for prom, as opposed to my BECCA one, and one of the lovely people there directed me to this! I was skeptical at first because it almost looks matte in the container, but when i put it on it looked beautiful! There’s a very fine shimmer to it, so it catches the light beautifully, but it’s not as intense as some other ones i’ve tried. I mean, look at it!

(this also isn’t in direct sunlight)

You also don’t need much of it at all, I can just lightly touch your brush to it once or twice and that’s enough for me. A little really goes a long way. You can get it here

Second is this No 7. Midnight Lash Mascara

I actually got this a while ago, but I just started using it and let me just say wow.

You can see me wearing it on my left eye here, vs the right eye without. It only requires one coat and it doesn’t clump or make eyelashes stick together. Other than that, there’s not much to say about this other than it’s great! It’s about 10$, and you can get it here.

I’ve also been loving this hair oil!

I haven’t been super into hair care until recently, just because I didn’t know much about it, but when I saw this it piqued my interest so I had to get it and try it out. It really strengthens my hair and makes it softer and shinier. All you have to do is spray 1-2 pumps into damp hair and brush through to make sure it’s evenly distributed. You can get it here.

First for skincare are Tony Moly masks!

IMG_0047.png

I originally had 11, but i’ve used the majority of them over the month. They’re super great and come in all kinds of colors with different ingredients to benefit your skin in various ways. They’re sheet masks and you leave them on for about 30 min, and while that’s a long time it’s totally worth it! When they come off your skin is soft and glowing, and they all smell great! In the bundle I got them in, they were each about 1$, but normally they cost 3$ per mask. You can get them here

Next is this clay avocado mask

I picked this up to use as a quicker mask than the TonyMoly ones, you only need to have it on for 10-15 minutes. It’s really nice and my skin is always soft and moisturized afterwards. I also have really sensitive skin, and this is the perfect clay mask for that! You can get it at your local Walgreens.

   M u s i c  &  B o o k s

This month i’ve come across a lot of new music & books, but recently i’ve been really into chill music, music you can sing along to loudly, and pick-up-put-down books that I can read and stop reading whenever.

Books

I’ve bought two books recently, one called ‘Milk and Honey’ by Rupi Kaur, and one called ‘This Modern Love’ by Will Darbyshire.

IMG_0050.jpg

Milk and Honey is a poetry book that features poems about love, loss, and self image. All of the poems are short and powerful and are accompanied by really cute line art relating to the poem. I personally read it all in one day, but it’s the kind of book that’s really nice to read if you’re sitting on the bus or may need to put the book down whenever. One of my personal favorites is pictured above, but i love almost all of the poems as they all make you think about what you’re reading, and all cause an emotional response.

This Modern Love is a series of notes from real people all around the world about what love is and their experiences with love. It’s a very beautiful, personal book that is unflinchingly real, wether that makes the reader ‘aw’ or the opposite. It’s divided into three parts, the beginning, middle, and end of relationships. It starts out talking about crushes and puppy love, then how relationships form and grow, and finally how they end. Throughout the book there are little snippets about how technology affects relationships, for better or for worse. Sounds a little preachy, but it isn’t, I promise.

Some new songs I’ve found

BAYNK- Poolside

WENS- Bleed

Tara Carosielli- Holloway Road

Ark Patrol (feat. Veronika Redd)- Let Go

Green Light- Lorde

Bishop Briggs- River

Shallou- Begin

Moglii- Breath

That’s all for my favorites for this month, I hope you enjoyed reading!! If you have any questions or recommendations don’t hesitate to comment. Thanks so much for stopping by!
